US plastics packaging group Coveris (Chicago, Illinois; www.coveris.com) has appointed a new CEO. On 8 January 2018, Jakob Mosser will replace interim CEO Dimitri Panayotopoulos (see Plasteurope.com of 21.09.2017), who will continue to serve as chairman. Coveris is ending a one-year period of transition at the top, which was brought about by the unexpected resignation of then-CEO Gary Masse (see Plasteurope.com of 31.01.2017).
Mosser has a career in the packaging industry spanning more than 30 years, during which he has held several leadership positions. He most recently served as CEO of the Schur Flexibles Group (Baden / Austria; www.schurflexibles.com), which he founded, and which in summer 2017 was sold to private equity firm Lindsay Goldberg (see Plasteurope.com of 25.07.2016). Prior to this, Mosser had run the Austrian films manufacturer Unterland, which was taken over by paper and packaging group Mondi (Vienna / Austria; www.mondigroup.com) in 2007 (see Plasteurope.com of 18.07.2007).
