With the acquisition of the UK processor Ultimate Packaging (Grimsby; www.ultimate-packaging.co.uk), US-based ProAmpac (Cincinnati, Ohio; www.proampac.com) has further strengthened its presence in the region. Ultimate Packaging produces flexible packaging solutions for the food industry, which are then printed by flexographic and digital printing. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Back in March, the US company acquired two other British producers of polyethylene film and bags, IG Industries (Brigg; www.igindustries.co.uk), and Brayford Plastics (Lincoln; www.brayfordplastics.com – see Plasteurope.com of 29.03.2021).
After various acquisitions and the merger with Prolamina in 2015, Ampac Flexibles unified its branding in 2017 under the name ProAmpac. Since then, takeovers have dominated the expansion policy of the US producer: As of March 2017, the firm has acquired 15 companies worldwide, including Clondalkin, PakTech and Dyne-a-Pak. The Ultimate Packaging purchase is the fourth acquisition in 2021 alone.
With Ultimate Packaging, ProAmpac now has 44 production plants worldwide, more than 5,800 employees, and over 5,000 customers in 90 countries. The company is owned by Pritzker Private Capital (Chicago, Illinois / USA; www.ppcpartners.com).
