French distributor Snetor (Courbevoie; www.snetor.com) has taken over the distribution of US-based polyamide supplier Ascend Performance Materials’ (Houston, Texas; www.ascendmaterials.com) PA range in several European and African countries.

Snetor will sell Ascend’s products in the Benelux region, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, UK, Ireland, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and South Africa. The agreement covers US supplier’s “Vydyne” (PA 6.6) and “Hidura” (PA 6.10 and PA 6.12) ranges, as well as Italian firm Poliblend’s (Mozzate; www.poliblend.it) “Polimid” (PA 6 and PA 6.6 compounds) and “Secomid” (PA 6 and PA 6.6 compounds from recycled plastics) ranges – Ascend acquired the Italian firm in 2020 (see Plasteurope.com of 08.09.2020).

As part of the agreement, Snetor will also be distributing France’s Eurostar Engineering Plastics’ (Fosses; www.eurostar-ep.com) “Starflam” and “Starmide” PA 6 and PA 6.6 compounds – Ascend acquired the French compounder in January 2021 (see Plasteurope.com of 08.01.2021).

In 2020, the French distributor had expanded Europe-wide with acquisition of the plastics segment of Gazechim (Beziers / France; www.gazechim.com), and taken over the distribution of calcium carbonate-based plastic additives and compounds portfolio of Cabamix (Cabannes / France; www.cabamix.net) in several European and South American countries (see Plasteurope.com of 17.09.2020 and 13.05.2020).

In 24 European countries as well as Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Russia and Ukraine, German distributor K.D. Feddersen has also started selling polyamide compounds made by Ascend (see Plasteurope.com of 24.02.2021).
