German polyamide specialist Domo Chemicals (Leuna; www.domochemicals.com) said it is parting with its remaining PA-film production in Italy, with its subsidiary Domo Films Solutions (Cesano Maderno; www.domofilm.com) to be sold to JPF Netherlands, the holding company for the European activities of Jindal Films (New Delhi / India; www.jindalfilms.com). The value of the deal was not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2021.
The subsidiary produces biaxially oriented and cast PA films (BOPA and CPA) to make flexible packaging for a range of sectors, including food, pharmaceutical and medical products. With the sale, Domo plans to focus on polymer production and compounding, CEO Yves Bonte said.
Meanwhile, Jindal is expanding its own activities in the direction of PA film through the acquisition as it broadens its global presence. Just over two years ago, the Indian company swallowed Treofan, which makes BOPP and BOPET films (see Plasteurope.com of 30.10.2018).
