Indian films giant completes acquisition of Treofan's European activities
Jindal Films' (New Delhi / India; www.jindalfilms.com) acquisition of Treofan's (Raunheim / Germany; www.treofan.com) European business has been completed – see Plasteurope.com of 10.08.2018. The Indian world market leader in biaxially oriented films is increasing its capacity to 550,000 t/y of BOPP film and 127,000 t/y of BOPET film. It is the second major acquisition by Jindal since its takeover of ExxonMobil Chemical's film activities in 2012.
Treofan has a BOPP film capacity of approximately 120,000 t/y. Its film is used for packaging, labels, tobacco and technical applications in Europe.
