The German plastics converters association Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie (GKV, Berlin; www.gkv.de) has announced that Julia Große-Wilde is its new managing director, effective 1 January 2021. She takes over duties from CEO Oliver Möllenstädt, who exited the GKV at his own request (see Plasteurope.com of 17.08.2020). It was not possible to learn whether she would also be appointed to the position of chief executive.
“We are gaining an experienced and well-connected association manager, lawyer and political communicator,” GKV President Roland Roth said. Große-Wilde noted, “I am looking forward to the new tasks in the plastics processing industry. The focus will be on accompanying the social and political debate about plastics and sustainability.”
Roth also paid tribute to Möllenstädt and his more than nine years of service with the GKV. “Our association has significantly expanded its political network under his management activity, which was expressed not least in the relocation of the headquarters from Bad Homburg to Berlin in 2018.”
The GKV is the umbrella organisation for the plastics processing industry in Germany, which boasts annual sales of EUR 65.1 bn and 336,000 employees at over 3,000 companies.
