It’s the end of an era for German plastics converters association Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie (GKV, Bad Homburg; www.gkv.de) – general manager Oliver Möllenstädt (42) has announced his departure from the organisation. From November 2020, he will instead head up federal property managers association Bundesfachverband der Immobilienverwalter (BVI) as well as its affiliate BVI Service together with Dirk Lamprecht. In response to a Plasteurope.com enquiry, the GKV said it does not yet have a successor.
Möllenstädt joined the plastics converters association in 2011 (see Plasteurope.com of 16.08.2011). He has extensive political connections, not least due to his former position as state chairman of political party FDP in Bremen. Especially during the recent open critique of the plastics industry, the digitalisation expert’s guiding principle was “facts, not emotions”.
