Plastiflex (Paal-Beringen / Belgium; www.plastiflex.com) is moving its Chinese subsidiary in Suzhou, Jiangsu, to a larger site by November 2020. The current location, it said, does not offer enough room for growth.
The Belgian company has been operating the plant in Suzhou, where it produces hoses for vacuum cleaners, white goods and industrial applications, since 2002. Plastiflex has another facility in the Dongguan region in China, which is responsible for the manufacture of hoses for swimming pools and medical technology.
Altogether, Plastiflex operates six production plants worldwide. At the start of this year it acquired an industrial vacuum and swimming pool hose business from corrugated hose and tubing manufacturer Smooth-Bor Plastics (Laguna Hills, California / USA; www.smoothborplastics.com – see Plasteurope.com of 26.02.2020). It also recently opened a new healthcare manufacturing plant at its site in Tijuana / Mexico, which was originally set to be ready by mid-2021. Due to the increased demand of tubes for medical applications during the Covid-19 pandemic, the company decided to accelerate the project.
