Purchase of Smooth-Bor vacuum and swimming pool hose business

Plastiflex (Paal-Beringen / Belgium; www.plastiflex.com) has acquired an industrial vacuum and swimming pool hose business from corrugated hose and tubing manufacturer Smooth-Bor Plastics (Laguna Hills, California / USA; www.smoothborplastics.com). The US company said the deal, which covers all of its “Smooth-Bor” commercial product lines, was completed on 27 January 2020.
According to Plastiflex, the acquisition will allow it to improve its position in the pool and industrial markets. The purchase includes Smooth-Bor Plastics’ “VacPro”, “Armor” and recreational vehicle (RV)-related commercial, industrial and swimming pool hose lines. It does not include the US company’s medical device hoses, which will continue to be manufactured by Smooth-Bor Plastics under the “Smooth-Bor” brand.
Under the agreement, Plastiflex will acquire the production assets and manufacturing responsibility for the VacPro, Armor and RV hoses following a transitional period.
