Greif (Delaware, Ohio / USA; www.greif.com) has doubled its production capacity by adding a blow moulding machine, which is also situated in a cleanroom, to its facility in Ede / The Netherlands. The company opened the site in Ede in 2018 – see Plasteurope.com of 12.06.2018. The new addition allows the US manufacturer to produce around 1,500 food-grade intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) per day.
According to Luca Bettoni, Greif EMEA IBC and plastic product manager, demand for IBCs in the food sector is growing, with product integrity and shelf life storage becoming more important. He said the Dutch facility recently received the FSSC 22000 food safety system certification.
