German branch of Sekisui renamed Proseat Europe / Acquisition now complete

In mid-February, Sekisui Plastics’s (Osaka / Japan; www.sekisuiplastics.com) German subsidiary, which was recently founded at the end of 2018 as part of the Japanese company’s acquisition of Proseat, was renamed Proseat Europe. The company headquarters will remain in Mörfelden-Walldorf / Germany, which is the headquarters of the former Proseat.
Sekisui Plastics will hold a 75% share of the new company, which produces moulded seat cushions and was acquired from Recticel (Brussels / Belgium; www.recticel.com) by the Japanese firm at the end of 2018 – see Plasteurope.com of 27.02.2019. The rest will be held by Recticel. Proseat Europe’s management comprises Makoto Kimatsuka and Stefan Hünermann.
Sekisui (Tokyo / Japan; www.sekisuichemical.com) recently established a new European headquarters in Roermond / The Netherlands – see Plasteurope.com of 04.03.2019. A spokesperson told Plasteurope.com that the new branch, with currently six employees under managing director Hiroshi Kobayashi, will from now on serve as the interface between the head office in Japan and the independently operating subsidiaries in Europe.
