Japanese plastics group with new European HQ / Regional coordination

Japanese plastics manufacturing group Sekisui (Tokyo; www.sekisuichemical.com) has established a new European headquarters at Roermond / The Netherlands that will combine nine regional subsidiaries employing 1,000 people under one administrative roof. The new office on the Dutch-German border, where many other Japanese multinational companies are headquartered, will be headed by Hiroshi Kobayashi.
With the establishment of bases in four geographical regions, including America, Southeast Asia and China, the Japanese multinational with annual sales equivalent to EUR 8.7 bn in 2017 said the aim of the new European central office is to enhance corporate functions and support all regional businesses. In a partnership-oriented approach, Sekisui said the firms will work together on “comprehensive solutions and services.”
Along with Sekisui Alveo (Lucerne / Switzerland; www.sekisuialveo.com), a manufacturer of cross-linked and extruded polyolefin foams, Sekisui’s European offshoots include Sekisui Chemical (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.sekisui.de), which distributes high performance plastics-based products such as industrial tapes and adhesives, along with extrusion and injection moulding specialist Sekisui Eslon (Roermond; www.eslon.nl), a producer of PVC building products, PB film, laminated glass specialist Sekisui S-Lec (Roermond; www.s-lec.eu) and PVOH resins producer Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Europe (Tarragona / Spain; www.sekisui-sc.com). European group companies positioned outside the plastics sector include pipe renewal specialist Sekisui Pipe Renewal (Roermond; www.sekisuispr.com) and medical diagnostics industry suppliers Sekisui Diagnostics (Pfungstadt / Germany) and Sekisui Diagnostics UK (Maidstone; www.sekisuidiagnostics.com).
