Lori Ryerkerk to become new CEO

Celanese (Dallas, Texas / USA; www.celanese.com) has announced that Lori Ryerkerk will succeed Mark Rohr as CEO on 1 May 2019. Rohr has been head of the company since 2012 – see Plasteurope.com of 10.04.2012 – and will assume the position of executive chairman of the company's board of directors. Ryerkerk will also be joining Celanese’s board.
She has extensive experience in the petrochemicals industry and held various leadership roles at businesses in Asia, Europe and the US. Ryerkerk worked for 24 years at ExxonMobil and most recently was executive VP of Global Manufacturing at Royal Dutch Shell, where she was responsible for all chemical and refining assets worldwide.
