Novio Packaging (Wijchen / The Netherlands; www.novio.eu) has bought German company Flacopac (Deizisau; www.flacopac.com) and its Swiss sister firm Deflaco, strengthening its market share in Europe. Financial terms were not disclosed. The companies, which operate from Deizisau and Thalwil / Switzerland and employ a total of 16 people, develop and produce packaging systems in plastic and glass for the cosmetics and perfume industry.
“These acquisitions allow us to combine our strengths to create a broader product offer, particularly in the cosmetics and perfume sectors. Furthermore, the addition of strong markets such as Germany and Switzerland to our sales region will allow us to consolidate and further strengthen our position in Europe”, said Novio’s managing directors Marck Jansen and Erik Trum.
Jürgen Schmidt, founder of Flacopac/Deflaco, will remain as a consultant with both companies, which will continue to operate at their existing sites. Hans-Jürgen Schmidt will remain as Flacopac’s managing director while Melanie von Escher will continue to manage Deflaco. The two companies will retain their names during the coming year.
Novio acquired two packaging companies in 2018, namely Haal Verpakkingen (Zeewolde / The Netherlands) and Scandinavian Packaging (Borup / Denmark), both of which now operate as Novio Packaging – see Plasteurope.com of 20.06.2018.
The Novio Packaging group has been a distributor of primary packaging products and packaging solutions in the pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and household markets since 1978. With a network in Europe and Asia, the company has grown from five employees in 2000 to around 100 employees at present.
