The board of directors at US chemical group DuPont (Wilmington, Delaware; www.dupont.com) has appointed interim chairman and chief executive Edward Breen to permanently fill the position.
Breen, regarded as a turnaround specialist, joined the board in February, and took over as chairman and CEO on an interim basis following the resignation of the former office-holder, Ellen Kullman, in mid-October – see Plasteurope.com of 07.10.2015.
From 2002 to 2012, the new DuPont chief was head of Tyco International, where he presided over the company’s breakup. Prior to that, he held top management positions at Motorola and General Instrument Corporation.
