Evonik (Essen / Germany; www.evonik.com) and Brenntag (Mülheim / Germany; www.brenntag.com) have announced an immediate expansion of their existing distribution agreement to include Evonik’s “Vestamid HTplus” PPA grades in Europe, excluding Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Brenntag has been distributing Evonik’s “Vestamid”, “Trogamid”, “Vestodur” and “Vestamelt” grades since October last year – see Plasteurope.com of 20.10.2009.

“Vestamid HTplus” is a polyphthalamide polymer (PPA) with a high temperature and chemical resistance that can easily be processed in many different ways, including by injection moulding, extrusion as well as fibre manufacture. These characteristics make the grade particularly suitable for use in the automotive, E&E, industry and household goods sectors. The latest addition to the “Vestamid HTplus” family is a biobased PA 10T from Evonik, made of up to 50% renewable feedstocks (see Plasteurope.com of 24.08.2010).
