German chemicals distributor Brenntag (Mülheim; www.brenntag.com) has extended its agreement with Evonik Industries (Essen / Germany; www.evonik.com) to include the PA compounds “Vestamid” and “Trogamid,” along with the PA-based “Vestamelt” hot melt adhesives and “Vestodur” (PBT). The deal includes all of Europe except Italy and Scandinavia.

Brenntag has a long-term distribution partnership with group company Evonik Röhm (Darmstadt / Germany) for PMMA (“Plexiglas”) moulding compounds and the small-scale compounding of Plexiglas. This covers Germany and eastern Europe and – since the beginning of 2009 – also France.

The expanded cooperation with Brenntag, which took effect on 1 October, is part of Evonik’s efforts to “harmonise our European distribution landscape” and is aimed at strengthening ties with smaller customers, said Joachim Leluschko, head of the high performance polymers business unit at group company Evonik Degussa, which produces the PA and PBT products.
