LA SEDA
El Prat de Llobregat plant at full capacity in June
Following the April restart of its PET resins plant at El Prat de Llobregrat – see Plasteurope.com of 20.04.2010 – La Seda de Barcelona (Barcelona / Spain; www.laseda.es) said its second line is now being restarted and the facility will be operating at full capacity of 170,000 t/y from June. The Spanish group points to β€œthe favourable market situation,” which is allowing it to begin recovering market share, along with increased customer demand. Production at El Prat de Llobregrat was stopped in September 2009 due to weak demand.

After long negotiations, a cash injection from creditors enabled the restart of the unit, which accounts for 28% of group nameplate capacity. La Seda also operates PET polymerisation plants in Turkey, Italy, Portugal and Greece.
