El Prat PET plant restarts / Creditors inject cash
La Seda de Barcelona (Barcelona / Spain; www.laseda.es) has restarted its PET resins plant at El Prat de Llobregrat / Spain following a cash injection from the creditor banks supporting its restructuring scheme – see Plasteurope.com of 29.07.2009. Production was stopped in September 2009 due to weak demand, following the introduction of short-time working in July – see Plasteurope.com of 23.07.2009. La Seda plans to gradually increase output to 100% of the plant’s nameplate capacity of around 170,000 t/y.
