Speciality film converter and distributor Transcendia (Franklin Park, Illinois / USA; www.transcendia.com) has acquired engineered polyethylene film provider Marshall Plastic Film (Martin, Michigan / USA; www.marshallplastic.com). Marshall's films are used in a range of applications in the healthcare, food and industrial markets.

Andy Brewer, president and CEO of Transcendia, says, "Marshall’s engineered pharmaceutical films will further enhance Transcendia’s rapidly expanding healthcare offering." Transcendia produces, converts and distributes speciality films to over 5,000 customers worldwide. The company also has custom converting services such as embossing, magnetic striping, security holograms and printable plastics for commercial printing.

Near the end of 2016, Transilwrap changed its name to Transcendia. Transilwrap acquired Dow Chemical's speciality films business last year (see Plasteurope.com of 21.06.2016).
