TOSAF
Launching new antifog masterbatches for packaging applications
Israeli compound, additive and masterbatch manufacturer Tosaf (Afula; www.tosaf.com) has expanded its family of antifog masterbatches. The grades are all food contact approved, adjusted for optimal processing and activity as well as individually formulated to create fast responsive and long-lasting antifog activity in polyolefins like metallocene PE (mPE), LLDPE, polybutene (PB-1) and PP, the company said.
The existing “AF” range – presented at “K2010” and which included “AF4953LL” for multilayer high barrier packaging as well as “AF5979PE” for high clarity barrier films (see Plasteurope.com of 09.11.2010) – has now been complemented by the new “AF6851LL” grade, which Tosaf says is a “unique and efficient” antifog solution for sealing layers containing PB-1. The company also introduced “AF2327PP”, designed specifically for PP barrier films and said to offer outstanding processability and excellent antifog activity even after lamination.
A joint venture between Megides Holding and the Ravago Group, Tosaf’s 2013 revenues are expected to exceed EUR 300m. The company’s 800 employees are spread across nine sites located in Israel, Turkey, Germany, the UK, The Netherlands and Ukraine.
