TER PLASTICS POLYMER
Exclusive European distributor of Polycasa's PMMA / Portfolio now also includes POM from Polyplastics
On 1 October Ter Plastics Polymer (Herne / Germany; www.terplastics.com) became the exclusive European distributor of Polycasa’s (Geel / Belgium; www.polycasa.com) “Polycasa” PMMA grades. This is the first strategic partnership of the former Quinn Plastics with one of Europe’s leading distributors. Produced in Mainz / Germany, the resins are characterised by high stiffness as well as a large range of viscosity and impact resistance, Ter Plastics said.
The German distributor has also added Polyplastics’ (Tokyo / Japan; www.polyplastics.com) “Duracon” POM grades to its European portfolio. Since 2012, the Japanese group – a 55:45 joint venture between Daicel and Celanese – has been raising its global profile by setting up sales offices in both Europe and North America (for most recent coverage, see Plasteurope.com of 17.10.2013). After having raised capacity in Malaysia (see Plasteurope.com of 21.07.2011), the company – which Plasteurope.com’s Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net) shows can turn out 260,000 t/y – now vies with Celanese for the title of the world’s leading POM producer. Since last year, fellow German distributor Velox (Hamburg; www.velox.com) has been marketing all of Polyplastics' engineering thermoplastics, including POM, in Europe (see Plasteurope.com of 03.07.2013).
