TEKNOR APEX
Singapore Polymer name is dropped as Asia Pacific brand is established / Unveiling at “Chinaplas 2011”
Custom compounder Teknor Apex (Pawtucket, Rhode Island / USA; www.teknorapex.com) has established Teknor Apex Asia Pacific to serve the region from Saudi Arabia to New Zealand, replacing the name Singapore Polymer Corporation, an international business based in Singapore and acquired by Teknor Apex in 2001.
Teknor Apex already has a company established in China – Teknor Apex Suzhou Advanced Polymer Compounds. Stanly Tan was appointed as managing director of both businesses in 2010. “Combining all of our operations under the Teknor Apex brand represents the culmination of a decade-long process of integration that has created one company in fact – not just in name,” said Tan. “Whether our customers are based in Saudi Arabia, India, China, or Australia, they now have the assurance of dealing with a single organisation having uniform standards, product designations, business practices and regulatory approvals.”
At “Chinaplas 2011” – see Plasteurope.com of 09.12.2010 – Teknor Apex Asia Pacific will exhibit at a booth originally listed under the Singapore Polymer Corporation name. In addition to the introduction of the new name, “Chinaplas” will see the first trade-show appearance of the “Sarlink” thermoplastic vulcanisate elastomer business acquired late in 2010 – see Plasteurope.com of 23.09.2010. Sarlink compounds are established in the Asian automotive market with sales directed from an office in Shanghai, Teknor Apex said.
