RAVAGO
Purchase of Turkish speciality chemicals distributor Kemiropa
Polymer supplier Ravago (Luxembourg; www.ravago.com) recently signed a deal to acquire speciality chemicals distributor Kemiropa (Istanbul / Turkey; www.kemiropa.com.tr/en). Established in 1987, the latter purports to be a leading player in the Turkish market, focused on the coatings, construction, life sciences and industrial segments. The company’s portfolio includes PVC compounds, composites, recyclate and engineering plastic compounds, among others. Kemiropa has been part of European speciality chemicals distribution group LEL (www.lel-group.com) since mid-2008 (see Plasteurope.com of 25.07.2008).
Following a spate of acquisitions, Ravago earlier this year announced a strategy to focus on chemicals, and set up a specific business unit bundling these activities (see Plasteurope.com of 27.05.2016). Among its purchases in 2016 are US recycler and toll compounder Industrial Resin Recycling (IRR, Howell, Michigan; www.industrialresin.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 13.09.2016.
