Acquisition of US recycling company IRR / Expanding regional footprint and strengthening automotive presence
Making its third acquisition this year, plastics supplier Ravago (Luxembourg; www.ravago.com) has purchased US-based recycler and toll compounder Industrial Resin Recycling (IRR, Howell, Michigan; www.industrialresin.com). The deal was done by Ravago Holdings America (RHA) and adds regional recycling service points in the southeastern and upper midwest states of the US. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition also gives RHA greater access to feedstock for its portfolio of recycling resins, including the “Echo” brand of recycled PP and PE, as well as further strengthening its position in the automotive sector. “As we expand and build upon our commitment to recycling, we see this acquisition as a critical next step in our ability to offer customisable solutions to the market where we can manage the entirety of the recycling ecosystem including collection, conversion, and the sale of recycled resins,” said RHA president and CEO Jim Duffy.
Established in 1995, IRR is focused on post-industrial plastics, including PVC, PE, PP and PC. The firm has automotive approvals and supplies most of the car manufacturing plants in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. In addition to Howell, IRR operates plants in Fowlerville, Michigan, and Piedmont, Alabama.
