Acquisition of Polyprime's TPE business / New TPVs planned for Europe and Asia
Belgian compounder and distributor Ravago (Arendonk; www.ravago.com) has acquired the thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounding business of Polyprime (Grand Prairie, Texas / USA; www.polyprimeinc.com). The acquisition will strengthen Ravago’s Enplast Plastik Kimya (Istanbul / Turkey; www.enplast.com.tr/en) subsidiary and provide the possibility to supply customers with TPEs on a global basis, Ravago said. Financial details were not disclosed.
Enplast Plastik Kimya’s headquarters and research and development activities will remain in Istanbul, while the new Enplast Americas (Arlington, Texas / USA) business will develop and produce special products for the North American market. Enplast Americas’ production is located primarily in Arlington.
Ravago plans to invest further in the new acquisition and launch novel thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV) with proprietary cross-linking technology in Europe and Asia. In January, Ravago had acquired US distributor and compounder Amco Plastic Materials (Farmingdale, New York; www.amco.ws), strengthening its US business – see Plasteurope.com of 19.01.2012.
