Dutch masterbatch producer expands storage space
Setting the stage for further growth, Dutch masterbatch, pigments and additives producer QolorTech (Vaassen; www.qolortech.nl) has acquired the real estate next to its existing site in Vaassen. The 5,000 m2 area will lift the company’s overall space to 15,000 m2, managing director Michiel de Jong told Plasteurope.com. Financial details were not disclosed.
QolorTech plans to build a new logistics centre on the additional space, where it will house its bulk storage and automatic packaging equipment. This will make room in the existing facility, where the company intends to double its current extrusion capacity. Initially, the group plans to set up 20 new silos, de Jong said, adding that once all works are completed, another 20 will be added.
The Dutch group in October last year raised output at the site to 40,000 t/y (see Plasteurope.com of 05.02.2015). A small fire erupted at the premises in August but had little impact on production (see Plasteurope.com of 26.08.2015).
