Preparing the ground for additional growth, Dutch masterbatch producer QolorTech (Vaasen; www.qolortech.nl) in October last year installed three new extruders and enlarged its storage capacity. The company’s 11 plants now have a total nameplate capacity of 40,000 t/y. As part of the investment, QolorTech also upgraded its research laboratory and expanded its storage space by a new 1,250 m2 hall. The latter offers space for 1,500 palettes.
The Vaasen-based group also commissioned a second packaging line, which raises its masterbatch and compounds bagging capacity to 14 t/h. By using tube foil, the new line is capable of packaging different-sized volumes.
QolorTech caters to a range of customers from the plastics, coatings and print ink industries. Its portfolio comprises pigments and pastes for coatings, print inks, coloured resin and blends, coloured resin for thermoplastics, pigment mono concentrates for polymers as well as additive preparations. Headed by CEO Michiel de Jong, QolorTech employs 55 workers.
