POLYONE
Commissioning of Turkish production facility
US compounder and distributor PolyOne (Cleveland, Ohio; www.polyone.com) has commissioned its Turkish facility in Istanbul. The company says to better serve growing local demand, the facility focuses on masterbatch formulations for speciality polymers. The new location offers a specially designed layout for customer meetings, training and collaboration in addition to its cutting-edge production facilities.

"Turkey is one of the fastest growing markets for thermoplastics in the world and the speciality polymer solutions [we] deliver meet the needs of the OEMs and plastics processors throughout the region," notes Holger Kronimus, vice president of Europe for PolyOne.

According to the Turkish plastics association Pagev (Istanbul; www.pagev.org.tr), the domestic plastics industry is growing at a rate of more than 10% annually.

In addition to its Turkish site, PolyOne has also been busy building a new production facility in Pune / India, which is scheduled to be ready for production in early 2014 and will produce masterbatches, colours and additives – see Plasteurope.com of 21.10.2013.
