US compounder and distributor PolyOne (Cleveland, Ohio; www.polyone.com) is expanding its operations in the Indian city of Pune with the construction of a facility for solid masterbatches, colours and additives. When finished, the site will house an R&D centre and a service centre for customers in the region. No details of the investment were provided for the production plant, which is scheduled to be commissioned during the first quarter of 2014.

"With the increased capacity we can offer customers in India a broad spectrum of Solutions, not to mention shorter delivery times," said Vikas Vij, head of Indian business activities for PolyOne.
