POLYONE
ColorMatrix subsidiary to open support facility in Cape Town
Making good on its announcement to a global “invest to grow” strategy, US compounder and distributor PolyOne (Cleveland; www.polyone.com) in late June 2012 announced that its ColorMatrix subsidiary plans to open a new support facility in Cape Town / South Africa. Acquired in late 2011 (see Plasteurope.com of 02.01.2012), ColorMatrix specialises in the production of liquid colourants, additives and fluoropolymers.
The new centre, which will include sales and technical support services as well as an on-site colour laboratory, is scheduled to open its doors in August 2012, allowing the company to better support local customers who manufacture goods such as PET containers.
PolyOne in 2011 embarked on a course to transform itself into a specialty producer, choosing to invest in its most profitable business activity. The Cleveland-based group posted sales of USD 2.9 bn last year – see Plasteurope.com of 21.02.2012.
