Promens to take the company private / Integration of new acquisitions / Jobs to go at Plastohm
Injection and blow moulding group Polimoon (Oslo / Norway; www.polimoon.com) is in the process of integrating two recent acquisitions as its new owner, Star AcquisitionCo, prepares to have the company de-listed from the Oslo stock exchange. Star Acquisition is the takeover vehicle for the world´s largest rotational moulding group, Promens (Reykjavik / Iceland; www.promens.com) – see Plasteurope.com Web of 03.01.2007.
In December, Polimoon purchased 45% of the shares in French plastics engineering development company CD Plast (La Roche-sur-Yon / France; www.cd-plast.com), with the option to acquire the remaining shares. CD Plast, with a workforce of 25, specialises in the manufacture of small and large-scale plastic components for a wide variety of industries. Products include air conditioner housings, covers for car seats, housings for domestic appliances and shells for children´s car seats.
Polimoon is restructuring Plastohm Group (Villefranche, Oyonnax / France), also acquired last year – see Plasteurope.com Web of 15.09.2006. According to the French trade press, 54 jobs are to be eliminated at two of the company´s six sites in the country, with 49 to go at Charlieu and five at Villefranche-sur-Saône.
