PHILLIPS MEDISIZE
Czech production unit expanded / Workforce levels raised by 60%
Thanks to new business in the region, Phillips-Medisize (Hudson, Wisconsin / USA; www.phillipsplastics.com) recently added 1,100 m2 to its Czech production facility, located in Trhove Sviny. The company did not specify the exact investment cost of the new clean room production space. It did say that the expanded facility has plastic, liquid injection moulding as well as catheter extrusion and device assembly capacities in its new class 7 and 8 clean rooms, which are FDA registered and ISO 13485 certified.

The rise in orders from the site also led the US-based group to raise its staff levels by more than 60% to 138 workers. Phillips Plastics (Hudson, Wisconsin / USA; www.phillipsplastics.com) had acquired the Czech facility as part of its purchase of Finland’s Medisize last year – see Plasteurope.com of 12.07.2011.
