US outsourcing provider Phillips-Medisize (Hudson, Wisconsin; www.phillipsplastics.com) says production has now begun at its Finnish site in Kontiolahti, which focuses on the manufacture of inhalers, insulin pens, transfer devices and syringes – see Plasteurope.com of 18.02.2013. It plans to continue ramping up the facility's broadened actvities through the end of the year.

The company said the facility expansion includes 1,200 m²of cleanroom manufacturing and assembly with space for adding moulding machines and assembly. Thus, the overall Finnish site now includes multiple high-speed, fully automated assembly lines, fully automated printing lines and several semi-automated lines.
