Expansion in Brazil with Greif plastic drum and IBC acquisition
Industrial packaging company Mauser Group (Brühl / Germany; www.mausergroup.com) has expanded into the Brazilian market with the acquisition of the plastic drum and intermediate bulk container (IBC) businesses of Greif (São Paulo; www.greif.com.br). The acquisition is effective from 1 May.
The purchase, said Mauser, shows its commitment to invest and expand in Brazil despite the recent slowing of the economy. “We see tremendous opportunity here in Brazil and plan to continue our strategy of growing across all our market segments,” said Ricardo Goldenberg, president and CEO of Mauser Brazil.
This latest deal adds to two acquisitions in the US in April this year – see Plasteurope.com of 09.04.2015.
