Acquisition of rival injection moulding company in Sweden

KB Components (Örkelljunga / Sweden; www.kbcomponents.com) has acquired Placell (Gislaved / Sweden; www.placell.com) from investment company Captea Markets (Stockholm / Sweden; www.captea.se) for an undisclosed sum. KB Components will integrate Placell’s operations in its European Injection Moulding business and rename it KB Components Placell. The acquisition is expected to strengthen the Örkelljunga-based company’s position in the Nordic region.
Placell has an annual turnover of SEK 120m (around EUR 11m). It has a highly automated production operation of plastic components with gross weight of up to 2.5 kg. The company focuses on parts with a high demand for inserts and two-component products.
The latest acquisition is expected boost KB Component’s pro-forma turnover to EUR 120m, with five production sites in Europe, one in Asia and two in North America. Its customers are from the light and heavy vehicles, furniture, lighting, medical, chrome plating and other industries.
