The Jokey Group (Wipperfürth / Germany; www.jokey.com) has acquired Spanish packaging producer Treplas (Molina de Segura; www.treplas.com) for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is taking effect retroactively as per 1 January 2017. Management of Treplas will remain in the hands of the Rubio Ruiz brothers. "Jokey and Treplas attach importance to the customers of Treplas being able to still enjoy the personal service that reflects the philosophy of our two family-run companies", says Jokey CEO Herbert Kemmerich.

With this takeover, the Jokey Group which is specialised in plastics packaging and technical components has acquired its 15th production site. In Molina de Segura – approximately 200 km south of Valencia / Spain – Treplas produces injection moulded packaging for the food industry as well as closures, caps and tailor-made solutions for cosmetics and household chemicals. The Spanish company was founded in 1971 and, according to its own information, has more than 30 employees together with a production surface of 2,000 m² and warehousing space of 6,000 m². The Jokey Group – founded in 1968 – has more than 1,900 employees and reported sales of EUR 425m in 2016.
