In the run-up to the “Fakuma 2011” (www.fakuma-messe.de) industry fair, held in Friedrichshafen / Germany from 18 to 22 October 2011 (see Plasteurope.com of 17.08.2011), German bioplastics producer FKuR Kunststoff (Willich; www.fkur.com) has announced that it will be presenting a wide range of biodegradable, biobased and natural fibre reinforced compounds at the event.
The Willich-based group will be introducing additional developments to its cellulose acetate-based “Biograde” range, specifically its new “Biograde V 2091”, which is a completely transparent injection mouldable grade developed for thin wall parts with long flow paths. The new grade is not only claimed to be highly transparent, it also has a smooth and shiny surface. When used for thin walled parts, FKuR says, “Biograde V 2091” outperforms PS in terms of both flexibility and heat distortion temperature.
