ECOTECH
UK-based PET recycler insolvent / External administrators appointed
PET recycler Ecotech London (Rainham / UK; www.ecotechcorp.co.uk) has been placed under external administration. The company specialises in the regrinding of PET and is capable of processing clear and coloured bottles, preforms, as well as post-industrial PET scrap. Ecotech then turns these into hot washed clear, natural or coloured PET flakes, hot washed HDPE and PP flakes – sourced mostly from bottle caps – as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants and PE and paper labels.

Ecotech is the exclusive UK partner of STF Maschinen- & Anlagenbau (Aicha vorm Wald / Germany; www.stf-group.de), whose machines are used to recycle 70% of Germany’s total regrind volumes, the UK group said. In September 2014, Ecotech opened a PET recycling plant in East London capable of processing more than 18,000 t/y of PET bottles (see Plasteurope.com of 12.09.2014).
