Dutch operations to be sold / Investor fails to turn fortunes around
Dutch investor UTB Industry (Waalwijk; www.utb.eu) has put the Constar Plastics business, including property and movable assets, up for sale. The company had bought the PET preform and bottle operation in Zenevaar, The Netherlands, from bankrupt US plastic food and beverage container company Constar International in June last year – see Plasteurope.com of 16.06.2014.
UTB said it had failed in its efforts to innovate and generate new business, as well as regain the trust of some large former customers.
All movable assets have been sold via an online auction on 23 November.
