Dutch investor UTB Industry (Waalwijk; www.utb.eu) has bought the Zenevaar / The Netherlands-based operations of insolvent US plastic food and beverage container producer Constar International (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The announcement follows February’s takeover of Constar’s UK operations by turnaround investor Greybull Capital (London / UK; www.greybull.co.uk) – see Plasteurope.com of 28.02.2014.

Following the acquisition, Constar Zevenaar will now operate as Constar Plastics BV, with the investor planning to reposition the PET bottle manufacturer in the market, with an emphasis on the development and marketing of a new set of products. The existing management will remain in place.
