COLORANT CHROMATICS
PolyOne subsidiary expands colorants production and service capacities in China
In mid-September, Swiss colorants, dispersed pigments and specialty compounds producer Colorant Chromatics Group (Zug; www.colorant-chromatics.com) touted plans to expand its production and service capabilities at its facility in Shanghai / China. The financial details of the proposed expansion, which includes new equipment for the production of specialty colour concentrates and formulations, were not disclosed. The Swiss group did say the investment would not only reduce lead times for customers but also create a “comprehensive, centralised sales and development facility” to meet growing regional demand.
The announcement follows Colorant Chromatics’ decision in May to expand its service in India by signing a cooperation deal with Nishigandha Polymers (Mumbai / India) – see Plasteurope.com of 16.06.2012.
The Swiss company became part of US liquid colorant, additive and fluoropolymer producer ColorMatrix in 2007 and together with its parent company was acquired by PolyOne (Cleveland, Ohio / USA; www.polyone.com) at the end of last year – see Plasteurope.com of 02.01.2012.
