Leading EPS producer BEWiSynbra (Solna / Sweden; www.bewisynbra.com) is strengthening its collection and recycling activities in Denmark following an agreement to buy certain assets from EPS-Recycle (Thisted / Denmark). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The operations will be run as BEWiSynbra Circular Denmark and headed by Karl Olesen, who is also the managing director at BEWiSynbra Denmark. BEWiSynbra has set a target of recycling 60,000 t/y of EPS. Since it launched BEWiSynbra Circular in October 2018, the group has acquired three recycling companies, established a recycling company in Portugal (see Plasteurope.com of 02.01.2020) and introduced several recycling initiatives. Also in Denmark, BEWiSynbra bought a 51% stake last July in Eurec (Hedensted; www.eurec.dk – see Plasteurope.com of 23.08.2019).
BEWiSynbra was formed in 2018 when BEWi bought Dutch EPS foams specialist Synbra (see Plasteurope.com of 21.02.2018).
