BAERLOCHER
Building stabiliser one-pack plant in Turkey / Catering to local PVC converters
In a move it called “an additional strategic milestone to adapt to the global development of our markets”, German plastics additives producer Baerlocher (Unterschleißheim; www.baerlocher.com) has begun building a new 40,000 t/y calcium-based and lead stabiliser additive one-pack plant in Akhisar / Turkey.
The facility, which is due to start production in late 2014, further underlines the group’s commitment to the growing Turkish market. Just last year, Baerlocher set up a local subsidiary in Istanbul to provide support for the regional PVC window profile and pipe markets – see Plasteurope.com of 01.03.2012. The production facility will service local PVC converters and will be complemented by a new, state-of-the-art technical application laboratory.
Commenting on the new plant, Baerlocher CEO Arne Schulle said, “This exciting new project is completely focussed on meeting the needs of local customers in the region.”
