Engineered foam manufacturer Armacell (Münster / Germany; www.armacell.de) is raising its profile in South Korea. After commissioning an insulation tubes and sheets plant in the country in 2012 – see Plasteurope.com of 20.06.2012 – the company announced that it had acquired Armatech Corporation (Saipan / South Korea), a leading supplier of technical insulation materials for the HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) industry.
Armatech previously served as Armacell’s distributor in Korea. The German company, which purports to be the world leader in the market for flexible technical insulation materials, said the purchase would provide it with resources and technology “to develop high-quality systems solutions for the building industry in Korea.”
