German synthetic foam manufacturer Armacell (Münster; www.armacell.com) has opened a plant in Cheonan / South Korea for the production of insulation tubes and sheets for the Korean market. The 2,700m² facility employs 30 people and will supply the domestic market, replacing output from the company’s plant in Suzhou / China. It has been manufacturing a range of products, including Armaflex tubes and sheets, since the beginning of May.
Ulrich Wellen, Armacell chief operating officer, said: “With our new site in South Korea we are further strengthening our position on the Asian market. Alongside two production sites in China and plants in Thailand, India and Saudi Arabia, we now have our own factory in East Asia.”
