Arburg (Loßburg / Germany; www.arburg.com) recently celebrated the official inauguration of its new 1,250 m2 premises in Shenzhen / China. The site doubles the German plastics machinery maker’s existing space at its subsidiary, which includes a 200 m2 demonstration room housing three Allrounder machines and affording storage space for another seven injection moulding machines. The expanded facility will allow the company to offer better customer support and increase its service offering in Shenzhen, Arburg said.
The new premises mean “the two subsidiaries in Shanghai and Shenzhen will work more closely together than before and will share capacity and know how,” said Arburg overseas director Andrea Carta. During the opening, Arburg also said that both the Shenzhen and the Hong Kong subsidiary will in future be managed by Zhao Tong, who has been overseeing the company’s operations in Shanghai for the past 10 years.
Arburg operates three facilities in China. Its Hong Kong office was first opened in 1991, while the Shanghai site dates back to 2004 and Shenzhen first opened its doors in 2006 (see Plasteurope.com of 06.12.2006). The German group opened a new warehouse at its Shanghai plant late last year – see Plasteurope.com of 03.12.2013 – yet further evidence of its ongoing investment in China, Carta said.
