Additive and colour specialist Ampacet (Tarrytown, New York / USA; www.ampacet.com) has launched “Eleco” products. These make up a series of black conductive masterbatches that can be used in a broad range of manufacturing processes and applications.
Eleco masterbatches improve the conductivity of plastics, which are insulative, beyond the antistatic and electro-dissipative properties of typical additives. Eleco enables plastics to meet the demanding requirements for products used in packaging and transport of hazardous substances, including powdery or explosive materials, or for goods highly sensitive to electric discharge.
Ampacet, which appointed Alvaro Mendoza its CEO in summer 2018 – see Plasteurope.com of 02.08.2018 – established in the spring its first branch in Africa. Located in Casablanca / Morocco, the office will oversee operations in North and West Africa as well as its cooperation with distributors such as Resinex (Arendonk / Belgium; www.resinex.com) and Orkila International (Beirut / Lebanon; www.orkila.com).
Ampacet generated sales of about USD 1.1 bn (EUR 970m) in 2017. The company operates 24 production facilities worldwide.
