Swiss injection moulder announces rebranding / Latest step in strategic reorientation
Following the sale of its Mexican and Chinese activities earlier this year – see Plasteurope.com of 05.09.2013 – Swiss injection mould maker Adval Tech (Niederwangen; www.awm.ch) recently announced it has decided to use only its "Adval Tech Styner+Bienz" and "Adval Tech Foboha" brands in the future, in addition to it general "Adval Tech" brand. The announcement is the latest step in the group’s efforts to refocus on mould making and selected component activities.
As part of the re-orientation and resulting re-branding, some group companies will be given new names, Adval Tech said, adding that it plans to begin the necessary preparatory work before the year ends. Specifically, the company said its "Components" business would in future centre on automotive and related components, while its mould making activities would focus on consumer goods and bodycare products, the packaging and medical technology markets as well as the automotive industry.
The new strategy – launched in 2012 – has seen the Swiss group concentrate its Chinese components and mould making activities in Suzhou as well as the selling off of its medical technologies business.
The Swiss company operates four production sites in Switzerland as well as one each in Germany and Hungary. Beyond Europe, it has plants in the US, Brazil, China, Thailand and Malaysia. With tts 2,117 employees, the company posted sales of almost CHF 280m in 2012.
