Fausto Bejarano appointed president

The European Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association (Teppfa, Brussels / Belgium; www.teppfa.eu) has appointed Fausto Bejarano, divisional CEO EMEA of Aliaxis (Brussels; www.aliaxis.com), as president for the next two years. He succeeds Maarten Roef, CEO and president Building and Infrastructure at Wavin (Zwolle / The Netherlands; www.wavin.com), who had been Teppfa president since 2016 – see Plasteurope.com of 19.05.2016.
Bejarano says the pipes industry is transitioning to a circular economy model, which is an important initiative that he supports. "Plastics is an ideal material for pipes in a wide variety of applications in building and construction. It delivers strong performance with a life expectancy exceeding 100 years. It is exciting times for the plastic piping industry and we are in a great position to offer innovative solutions to some of today’s global megatrends, such as climate change and resource scarcity."
Teppfa was founded in 1991 and comprises 12 multinational company members and 15 national associations across Europe representing 350 companies that manufacture plastic pipes and fittings. According to the association, its members have an annual production volume of 3m t and employ 40,000 people with annual sales totalling EUR 12 bn.
